Lawyer makes short work in quashing Jennylyn Mercado’s tweet re qualification to comment on national issues

Our favorite legal expert and opinion maker on Facebook, Atty. Nick Nañgit has joined the list of DDS influencers itching to respond to Jennylyn Mercado’s tweets asking whether there is now a required qualification for Filipinos to comment on national issues.

In a Facebook post, Atty. Nick explained to Jennylyn from the get go that her insinuation that making comments on national issues requires qualification is wrong. Anyone, even the non taxpayers can comment on social issues. But, make sure, they make sense and with basis.

But here what triggered Atty. Nick! When the SAF 44, Yolanda and Tanim Bala hounded the PNoy administration, Atty. Nick asked, where was Jen? And suddenly, she has found her voice during the pandemic. He can’t help but get curious of Jen’s enthusiasm. On Jen’s accusation that she’s being silenced, attempts, he asked why her face and tweets are plastered all over TV5? He advised Jennylyn to face her critics, she is not being told to shut up. It’s up to her if she wakes up from her stupidity on social issues and just stay quiet because of her level of education.

On Jennylyn lamenting about Filipinos forgetting how to respect the opinion of other people and asking if respecting others isn’t one of the teachings of one’s parents? Atty. Nick turned the tables around by reminding Jen another learnings from our elders.

Atty. Nick ended the FB post by connecting the conversation about respect and listening to elders and to Jen Mercado’s past.
