Lawyer shoots down Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s proposal -teachers’ allowance for pandemic year? Read why!

On Senator Kiko Pangilinan’s proposal to raise the teacher’s allowance because of the pandemic, a lawyer named Nick Nangit called this a proposal shrouded with dark motives.

Atty. Nick cited three reasons why he said so.

First, Atty. Nick suspects the timing of Senator Pangilinan’s proposal. In addition, Atty. Nick remarked that Pangilinan’s allies and party mates have been saying that the government should focus its spending on the pandemic just like when they criticized the Manila Bay white sands project. Hence, he can’t help but wonder why the sudden interest in salaries and not food. Making it more surprising for Atty. Nick why the attention given to other sectors isn’t equal with education when they are also hit by the pandemic.

Second, Atty. Nick argued that the pandemic school year is not enough reason why Pangilinan suddenly had the sympathy for teachers. He said there are many problems that require the attention of the national government, why focus on the allowance of teachers? Atty. Nick cited several areas where the teachers need help and should be given attention.

Third, the teacher’s allowance is just a piecemeal and temporary remedy. The teachers’ joy is just temporary. However, they will fail to notice that their allowance will go straight to paying for their expenses. In addition, the allowance is just one type of baiting to make the teachers feel they owe something to the politician who made the proposal.

Atty. Nick wrapped up his argument by summarizing the motives behind the proposal of Senator Pangilinan, which is to provide teacher’s allowance for the pandemic school year.

Atty. Nick ended the FB post by leaving a word of advice to the public.

‘Kaya, huwag magpaloko! 👊🇵🇭🧐
