Lawyer suspects high ranking gov’t official pressuring NBI not to pursue ex-Comelec Chair Andy Bautista in US

In the 2019 budget hearing, the NBI told senators they had located former Comelec Chairman Andy Bautista in the US and were studying how to nab him. Fast forward 2021, the former Comelec Chairman is still free as a bird.

In a Facebook post, Atty. Trixie wondered how on earth that until now, the agency can’t even come up with a decent story to explain why they never bothered to catch Andy Bautista in the US.

“For an agency full of intelligent people, the NBI can’t even come up with a decent story on why they never bothered to catch Andy Bautista.”

Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles of the FB page bearing her name can’t help but think aloud whether the agency lied under oath just to get their budget or someone influential was stopping them from arresting the former Comelec Chairman.

“And we are wondering here, if they lied under oath in the Senate in the 2019 budget hearing when they said they had located Bautista in the US (After two years? Eh sinabi na ng asawa niya kung asan siya…) and were studying their next moves on how to arrest him.”

Atty. Trixie remarked that indeed pressure can do wonders that it makes people to promise anything just to get what they want.

“Iba rin naman talaga pag pine-pressure sa budget. Lahat na lang ipapangako.”

Atty. Trixie asked if the NBI is still studying until now?

“So, 2020 yon. 2021 na, inaaral pa rin nila?”

Atty. Trixie ended the brief FB post by challenging NBI to squeal if a high official is applying the pressure because the NBI starting to look ______.

“PS. Kung may mataas na opisyal na nag pressure sa inyo, ilaglag nyo na. Kayo nagmumukang … alam nyo na.”

As of this writing, 4,000 netizens hit the Facebook like button, signifying they agree agree with Atty. Trixie’s sentiment.
