Move over Makati and Marikina, it’s Quezon City’s time to shine!
While social media have been raving about the modular tents of Marikina and Makati evacuees, netizens have been booing the cities of Manila and Quezon City for herding their residents to the usual evacuation centers like schools and basketball courts.
But not for long as Quezon City unveils their own alternative temporary shelters to TV5 reporter Ryan Ang.
According to TV5’s Ryan Ang, Quezon City has started the construction of 200 alternative temporary shelters in the evacuation centers in Barangay Silangan.
Ang talked to the person in-charged in the construction of the temporary shelters and this is what he has to say.
This is an alternative temporary shelters, hindi sya partition. (This is an alternative temporary shelters, not just a mere partition but can be used a temporary home. It has a roof, water proof, with electricity and screens to protect people from mosquitoes. A temporary home.)
On question why the temporary shelters came a bit late?
The man interviewed by the TV5 reporter said that they put premium on human life so they prioritize the rescue operation and restoring electricity.
While many reacted positively to the alternative temporary shelters of Quezon City, not everyone is happy with it, accusing QC local government of merely acting because of public pressure.
