Muslim Imam dismisses Lascanas’s claim Duterte ordered mosque bombing in retaliation to San Pedro Cathedral bombing

An influential cleric in Mindanao dismissed Lascanas claim that Duterte had a hand in the mosque bombing in retaliation of the church bombing in Davao City.

In a press conference, SPO3 Arturo Lascanas, a retired policeman, enumerated all the alleged crime he committed upon orders of then Mayor of Davao City and now President Duterte.

Lascanas claimed that members of the Davao Death Squad were paid P300,000 to retaliate against a Muslim mosque in Dvao City.

Sheik Nurulam Abdullah, the supreme Imam of Maguindanao and Cotabato City explained that there had been no indication that had a hand in the blast.

The former police officer maintained that was divided into three and his group was assigned to bomb along the diversion road in Davao City.

Abdullah said the story of Lascanas is just part of the destabilization move by the camps of Senators Leila de Lima and Antonio Trillanes III against the present administration.

Abdullah added, this is aimed to destroy the good relation between the President and the Muslim community.

The imam admitted that they had an idea behind the assault, but refuses to name the suspect.

According to the New York Times, the bombing occurred on Sunday when attackers tossed a grenade into a packed crowd killing 6 people and injuring more than 130 people.
