This is the initial reaction of the admin of the FB Page Team Philippines on Senator Manny Pacquiao’s impending presidential bid in the 2022 election.
The OP painted a different Manny Pacquiao – the struggling boxer and campaigning for senator and Manny Pacquiao the rich and famous senator. The OP said Manny Pacquiao the boxer had noble intention while Manny Pacquiao the billionaire and popular is now full of (hot) air in his brain.
“Ang sa amin lang eh nasosobrahan kami. Hindi naman kasi ganyan s’ya nung una s’yang mangampanya. Nakatikim lang ng upuan sa Senado at nakasalamuha ang mga epal at trapong mga senador eh nagkaganyan na s’ya. Mabuti pa nung mahirap at boksingero pa lang s’ya wagas pa ang intensyon n’ya. Yumaman at naging sikat lang eh napuno na ng hangin ang isip n’ya. Para kasing nasobrahan sa pagka-adelantado, pamumulitika, pagka-epal at pagkatrapo.”
“Don’t bite more than what you can chew, Manny. Magboksing at tumulong ka na lang. Nasisira imahe mo sa pagiging trapo,” the OP from Team Philippines offered an unsolicited advice to Pacquiao.
The OP from Team Philippines explained to Pacquiao how different the world of boxing from politics. In boxing, he will face only one opponent inside the ring. The same cannot be said in politics. He will have no control of the people around him. If he is stupid, the people around will devour him alive.
“Sa larangan ng boksing isa lang ang kalaban mo sa loob ng kontroladong ring. Pero sa pulitika hindi mo alam kung sino ang kalaban o kakampi mo. At hindi lang s’ya iisa. Hindi mo rin kontrolado ang mga taong nakapaligid sa’yo. Kaya kung maypa-bobo ka lalamunin ka lang nila ng buong buo. Let that sink in.”
The OP clarified though that he respects Manny’s achievements as a boxer. But as a politician, it is a different story, especially if he aspires for the highest position in the land.
“We respect your achievements as a boxer. We applaud your every win and commiserate with you in your defeats. But being a politician aspiring and aiming for the highest position in the land is a totally different playing field. And we doubt that it would be fair for you. Sayang ang mga pinaghirapan mo mula nang dati ka pang katulad ng maraming kapus-palad.”
The OP ended the post leaving Manny with something to think about until last minute of the filing of certificate of candidacy for President.
