This is the question posed by Atty. Bruce Rivera to Senator Kiko Pangilinan in light of his statement that General Parlade is damaging the reputation of the AFP as a disciplined and professional institution.
Atty. Rivera wants Kiko Pangilinan to elaborate why he said Parlade is going to ruin the AFP? He jokes that perhaps the senator’s eyebags are clouding his perspective.
“Teka, naguguluhan ako. Bakit si Parlade ang sisira sa AFP? Kiko, focus!! Baka natabunan ng eyebags ang perspective mo.”
Atty. Rivera changes gear and gives Pangilinan a brief refresher on the history of the communist insurgency in the country. Says history tells us that many soldiers had died because of the conflict. Meanwhile, Rivera says that Gen. Parlade has been in active service for a long time. If indeed the general is a menace to the AFP, the AFP should have been ruined a long time ago.
“As far as history goes, ang CPP/NPA/NDF/WTF ang madaming napatay na sundalo at hindi ang taong may bayag na hinarap ang mga rebelde. Nakakaloka!!! Antagal na ni Parlade sa AFP, kung kasiraan siya, eh matagal na sana. Walang pinatay na sundalo si Parlade. Walang nirecruit na child soldier si Parlade. At higit sa lahat, walang anak si Parlade na walang disiplina at di marunong rumespeto sa kapwa.”
At this juncture, Atty. Rivera pokes fun at Pangilinan because he should be the last person to preach discipline when his idea of a ruling is the word ‘noted’.
“Hindi ko alam kung nagpapatawa ka kasi you should be the last one to say anything about discipline when your idea of a ruling is the word ‘noted’.“
Atty. Rivera warns Senator Pangilinan to refrain from making a fool of someone who has balls, big balls.
“Utang na loob. Huwag niyong gaguhin ang taong malaki ang bayag. Nakalimutan niyo anong nangyari the last time you ganged up on a man with balls? Ginalit niya ung anak mo.”
