A photo of a teary-eyed Mayor Rodrigo Duterte left many supporters in awe during a campaign rally in Cebu is doing the rounds online.

In a Facebook post shared 5780 times as of Firday morning, a Facebook group identified with the Mayor of Davao City posted the emotionally-charged photo 11 hours ago, capturing the tearful homecoming of Duterte in Danao City where his forebears claimed their roots.
The photo of a crying Duterte elicited mixed comments from netizens ranging from expression of awe and admiration to expression of empathy for the teary-eyed Mayor Duterte.
One netizen commented that the sight of a crying Duterte left her teary-eyed too and wrote:

I salute you Mayor for showing tears because it only means you are crying for the poor people who needs a principled man like you, ready to stand up and face the challenges..Mayor, please know that in all your challenges, God is watching you…and in all your hardships, in God’s time, you will emerged triumphant.
Another netizen offered her explanation why Mayor Duterte cried in the photo and wrote:

Another netizen chimed in and claimed she felt the same way and wrote:
