“IF MANNY IS A ROLE MODEL IN BOXING; HE NOT ONLY PUTS TO SHAME OUR PHILIPPINE EDUCATION SYSTEM BY FINISHING A 4-YR COLLEGE COURSE IN 3 MONTHS BUT ALSO INSULTED THOSE WHO LABORED FINISHING COLLEGE BY THE RULES!”
This is the sentiment, which I think the collective sentiment of majority of netizens, of US-based Bicolano accountant Edwin Jamora on Manny Pacquiao getting his baccalaureate degree in just 3 months at the University of Makati?
Jamora remarked that simply looking at the grinning Manny Pacquiao holding his diploma grad pic evoked feelings of shame and chagrin.
“If I look at this picture, mga friends, I am the one embarrassed and mortified! Of course, I want all Filipinos to get a piece of the Philippine education brand. Sino ba?!”
However, when Jamora jogged down memory lane, how he toiled to receive his college degree (including his relatives, family) displeased is an understatement to describe his feelings but anger! He is mad as hell at Manny and everything that has something to with Manny’s diploma for the injustice.
“But looking back at how I toiled to get an education (including my family, relatives, and friends!), displeased is not the word that emanates from deep inside me. Galit ako mga friends! I am incensed at Manny, the University of Makati, and CHED for the gadem unequal opportunity!”
Jamora went on to elaborate why he is harboring ill-feelings towards the Manny Pacquiao 4-year college diploma brouhaha.
“Can you imagine how many of our siblings went through the agony of skipping several years of going to college because no one can afford to send them to school? Had we known that there’s a 3-month program for a 4-year college course, wouldn’t that alleviate the hell several families went through? And it could have avoided several broken family relationships?”
Jamora’s mood changed quickly as soon as President Duterte’s free public education in State U came to mind.
“True! It’s different now because today, public education is free. Thanks to President Duterte!”
If you think Jamora was done, you are goddamn wrong. He went on to castigate CHED, UMak and the senator who exploited the loophole in our educational system when he looked at Manny’s grad pic once again, calling it an affront to Filipinos who followed the rules.
“But this picture right here is a total insult to all of us who followed the rules! We went through the process and learned that we could articulate our anger towards the gadem CHED system, the University of Makati, and the Senator who took advantage of that system not available to puritas like us?”
