The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has recently announced the invitation to bid for the construction of the Cavite LRT Line 6.

The proposed Cavite LRT Line 6 will cost PhP65.09 billion project under the Philippine Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Program.

The 19-km railway will traverse the traffic-prone Aguinaldo Highway, from Niog in Bacoor to Dasmarinas City for a total of 7 stations. Check the graphics above for details.

At no cost to the government, the winning bidder will finance, design, construct, operate and maintain, and procure the rolling stock for the LRT system under a 30-year concession agreement.

The LRT Line 6 in Cavite aims to reduce traffic and improve the mobility of the people in the area. In addition, it hopes to spur economic development along the railway corridor.

The bid documents have been made available on December 28 until March 4, 2016 for a fee of PhP1 million.

In accordance with R.A. 6957 as amended by R.A.7718 or the Philippine BOT Law and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, the project will be procured following a competitive two-stage public bidding process.
