Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s proposal to ban K-dramas in local television to help the local showbiz industry isn’t popular even among politicians like Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla who wasted no time in thumbing down the proposal of the senator from San Juan.
In a Facebook post, Gov. Jonvic Remulla confessed that like many Cavitenos, he is a fan of KPop and KDramas because Kdramas strikes a chord in the Filipino heart.
Gov. Jonvic Remulla talked about KDramas and KPop giving inspiration and hope to so many Filipinos at the height of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Gov. Jonvic reminded the senator from San Juan that the South Koreans make the top tourist arrivals in the country. They love our country while we Filipinos love their entertainment. In other words, this is a win-win situation for both people.
Gov. Jonvic ended the FB post urging Senator Jinggoy and his colleagues in the showbiz industry who are supposed from his proposal to take a page from what the Koreans have achieved because he has faith in Filipinos.

RE: BANNING KOREAN CONTENT
Tulad ng maraming CaviteƱo, ako mismo ay fan ng KPop at KDramas. I think they strike a chord in the Filipino heart.
At the height of the pandemic when most of us were locked in our homes, KDramas and KPop gave many Filipinos hope and inspiration.
Koreans also make the top tourist arrivals in the Philippines. They love our country while we love them for their world-class entertainment.
There are no boundaries in pop culture.
Learn and take inspiration from what the Koreans have achieved. Kaya natin yan.
