Sen. Kiko Pangilinan draws flak for partisan comment on Jevilyn Cullamat issue

A certain netizen named Anna Malindog-Uy castigated Senator Kiko Pangilinan on Facebook for riding on the issue of 22-year old NPA combatant who died in an armed encounter with soldiers.

Ms. Anna accused Senator Pangilinan of politicizing the issue for media mileage. She remarked that when the casualty involves a policeman or a soldier while defending our country and the people, she wondered if the Senator or the Opposition has ever made a comment like this?

“Pati ba naman itong issue ng isang 22 years old na babaeng combatant na NPA na nasawi eh sasakyan pa nitong si Kiko. This guy is obviously politicizing this issue further. For what? Media mileage? Duh!🙄🙄🙄 Pag sundalo o police ba namatay sa crossfire sa pagtatanggol at pagsisilbi sa bayan at sa mamamayang Pilipino may mga ganitong “chika” ba itong si Kiko or yung opposition?”

Ms. Anna was particularly livid that Senator Pangilinan downplayed the role of the deceased as a mere medic when the mother herself admitted that her daughter was an NPA cadre. She said that if the Makabayan bloc and Kiko Pangilinan are truly respectful of the dead, they would rather stop politicking further the death of Jevilyn and let her soul rest in peace.

“Bakit ba pinagpipilitan nilang “medic” lang si Jevilyn (may her soul rest in peace), eh nanay niya mismo umamin na sumampa nga sa NPA anak niya. Kahit ano pang arguments yan, kesyo medic or not, at the end of the day, the fact remains that Jevilyn was an NPA, inamin mismo yan ni Rep Cullamat, and the NPAs are considered enemies of the state, and that’s the bottomline there. If the “Makabayan bloc and Kiko and the likes of him are truly respectful of the dead, then they should stop politicizing further the death of Jevilyn and just let her soul rest in peace.”

Ms. Anna ended the brief FB post leaving Kiko Pangilinan with the saying from Voltaire.

To end, let me quote Voltaire, – “To the living we owe respect, but to the dead, we owe only the truth.”

Senator Kiko Pangilinan’s meddling on the issue has been drawing flak from other netizens. Meanwhile, some netizens have used sarcasm to lighten the mood.

“Utak nito wla na sa ulo nasa eyebags na.”

“shawi..yang asawa mo turuan mong mangatwiran..”

Meanwhile, some netizens regretted for supporting Kiko Pangilinan in the last election. Like this one below.

“Binuto koyan dati si kiko. Piro sa 2022 mangampanya pa ako na wag ibuto yan lahat na kumakampi sa kaaway ng govierno… Tuloy lang tatay digs….”

Thoughts?
