Tales of heroism and bravery of Scout Rangers emerges online, rescued 16 soldiers pinned down by Maute militants

As the battle for Marawi winds down, tales of heroism of our soldiers have emerged online, giving netizens a reason to cheer amidst the gloom of war.

Former military officer and military rebel Abe Purugganan first broke the news of the bravery and heroism of the Scout Ranger who allegedly fought for 24 hours to rescue the soldiers trapped inside the V150 and Simba tank disabled by Maute’s rpg’s.

According to reports, the beleaguered soldiers were members of 5th Mechanized Company.

Four soldiers died upon initial attack while 16 managed to hold their line and wait it out until the Scout Rangers arrived to their rescue ala Black Hawk Down the movie.

“Four days na silang pinned down. Thanks to the Scout Rangers.”

The Scout Ranger’s heroism was also confirmed by the Facebook page “Scout Ranger Books” while sharing the pic of the Scout Ranger Captain who led the heroic rescue.

Thanks to the Scout Rangers. (Yung two soldiers sa left, one with green shirt and the other standing, yung mga na rescue.

Four Scout Rangers died in action namely Rangers Serrano, Bueno, Orboda and Principe in the rescue mission.
