Taxi driver who talks like Duterte goes viral

A video of a taxi driver who talks just like President Duterte drives the internet laughing has gone viral.

Facebook user Rachelle Oyette Dequina posted the video on Facebook today, February 2, 2018 to the amusement of everyone on social media.

Dequina wrote a caption in Cebuano language to introduce the video to her friends in particular and the public in general.

“Pinakalingaw na taxi driver, kuha kaayo nya sinultian ni PRRD. Nanakit akong tiyan ug kinatawa gikan SM hangtod nakaabot na lang mi balay.”

(The funniest taxi driver ever, perfectly copies how Duterte talks. My belly aches laughing from SM until reaching our house.)

In the video, Elcias Bugsad of Solid Eighty Eight Transport Services entertained his passengers doing President
Duterte impersonation with or without encouragement from passengers.

Bugsad recited several excerpts of Duterte’s trademark punchlines that we often hear on TV when doing impromptu speeches in public.

Bugsad narrated the countless times his passengers get lost of their destinations while listening to his Duterte impersonations.

The good-natured taxi driver said he would tell the passenger in jest that he will kick them for forgetting to disembark when they are suppose to.

Bugsad recalled an instance when a foreigner refuses to disembark from his taxi because he had a good time listening to his Duterte impersonation.

Let us have the rundown of Duterte’s punchlines that taxi driver Bugsad recited in the viral video.

“Ako kapag sinabi ko, gagawin ko talaga. Totoo yan!”

“When I say stop, S-T-O-P, you must stop it or else magkagulo talaga tayo. Ganun lang yun. Sabi ko sa aking term, wag nyo gawin yun, kasi sipain talaga kita.”

“It is because I am not afraid to die. If God allow me to, so be it.”

“We have been colonized by the US for almost 50 years and then what happened, they are just getting the fats of this land.

“I’ve been telling you this before, I don’t want to stay in Malacanang kasi may multo man diyan.”

As of this writing, Dequina’s post has gone viral in just a few hours she posted the video on Facebook, garnering more than 1.6 million views, 31,000 shares and 42,000 reactions and counting.
