“Exactly Ed Zaragoza, the PNoy government allowed the construction of structures by the Ch during their time.“
This is the reaction of Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade to the statement to a certain Ed Zaragoza on Facebook.
Lt. Gen. Parlade agreed that 2012 could have the perfect time to nip in the bud Chinese’ construction of military bases in WPS because of several factors which he enumerated.
“2012 would have been the best time for the RP government to stop the construction of Ch military bases in WPS when: 1- the CPLA Navy was hundreds of miles away, 2- when only a couple of civilian Ch dredgers were in the area trying to reclaim a piece of rock not bigger than half a basketball court, 3- when the Ch Coast Guard was nowhere in sight, 4- when the dredgers can easily be driven or towed away by our PCG. “
Lt. Gen. Parlade said there were many other options in stopping China’s WPS small reclamation activity without going to war.
“Believe me there were so many other options short of going to war with Ch, just to STOP the small reclamation activity. We could have nip it in the bud.”
Lt. Gen. Parlade accused the Liberals of making tons of money from the quarrying in Luzon, Visayas to Mindanao, to be dumped in the reclamation activity of the Chinese in WPS.
“But no, the Liberals were reaping billions from the quarrying in Luzon Viz Min, to be dumped in the reclamation area. We just have to start at those basic questions: why did PNoy not stop the building of these military bases when he did not need an entire Navy and Coast Guard to do it?”
A visibly annoyed Lt. Gen. Parlade slammed the Opposition who are now urging the government to go to war to implement a ruling when they could have stopped it before it was finished.
“Now that these bases are there right in our backyard, they want these govt to go to war to implement a ruling?”
