This article is misleading — Concerned netizen re Philippine Star article on Parokya ni Edgar, Agsunta @ UniTeam rally in Zamboanga

The Philippine Star has been catching flak from UniTeam supporters for publishing an article about performers like Parokya ni Edgar performing at UniTeam rally in Zamboanga from a dubious source.

Atty. Trixie of the Luminous called Philippine Star’s article “misleading” because of 2 reasons.

1. The article did not mention who made such claim. The screenshot from PhilStar showed the name of the poster has been blocked out.
2. The article did not mention that the post or claim was not issued by the UniTeam’s official sites or by BBM or Sara.

Atty. Trixie of the Luminous stated that she is writing this to clarify the issue. First, the origin of the claim or post has yet to be identified which was immediately disowned by the bands. The intention of the OP was malicious to embarrass the UniTeam if the bands don’t show up. Or, the OP was only making a wishful thinking.

Atty. Trixie ended the FB post by making a categorical statement that the post did not came from the UniTeam, BBM or Sara.

Ayon sa PhilStar may ilang mga banda na diumano’y mag perform sa UniTeam rallies. Mariing tinatanggihan ito ng Parokya ni Edgar, Agsunta, IV of Spades at Tabudlo.

Ang hindi binabanggit sa article na ito una, kung sino yung nag post ng claim na iyon. Duon sa screenshots, naka block out yung pangalan ng nag post.

Pangalawa at pinakamahalaga, hindi nakalagay dito NA HINDI ITO POST O CLAIM NG OFFICIAL SITES NG UNITEAM o nina BBM o Inday Sara.

Liwanagin pa natin. Di natin alam kung sino ang nga post ng mga claims na ito na tinatanggi ng mga banda. Posibleng malisyoso ang pag post, para mapahiya ang UniTeaM, kapag di nagsidatingan ang mga banda. Posibleng rin na nag wishful thinking lang yung awtor nito.

Pero ang SIGURADO, hindi Uniteam, si BBM o si Inday ang gumawa niyan. Walang official source ng impormasyon na yan.

Netizens offered their theory who masterminded the whole brouhaha.

It is likely the other side who made the malicious post to distract the public about their botched ‘Whatpad’ Pink bogus stories.

Meanwhile, this netizen reminded PhilStar how to do their job properly.

Philstar dapat pina fact check nyo muna yung troll na nag post bago ibalita. Haha. Halatang fake news.
