Threatened with libel suit, troll quickly deleted this meme to avoid prison time. But, is he safe?

After posting a libelous meme on Facebook, a troll quickly deleted a meme accusing a popular lifestyle magazine editor of being a Duterte paid propagandist.

Duterte supporter and Cosmopolitan editor Krizette Laureta Chu got incensed after the Facebook page, ChangeScamming, accused the feisty Waray from Tacloban of receiving moolah from the Duterte administration in exchange for her service as Duterte defender in the social media.

Furious, Ms. Chu took to Facebook and asked her followers in identifying the admin of the Facebook page so that she could file a libel suit against her accuser.

I have never been paid, not a single cent, by any political entity for my political views.

If anyone knows who the admin behind this Change Scamming is, please let me know ASAP via PM, I am filing a case. I assure you 100 percent anonymity.

You do not charge me with corruption and get away with it. Change Scamming, you better be ready with proofs that I was paid.

The minute I find out who you are, I will do everything in my power to send you to jail. Yes, using my own money.
EDIT: Please help me trace IPs, Duterte supporters who know how to do this. Please.

Ms. Chu’s post quickly gathered steam and got more than a thousand shares on Facebook.

Less than an hour after Ms. Chu issued her warning against the admin of ChangeScamming, the libelous meme has been taken down, thinking he/she could evade the libel suit.

Below is the follow-up post of Ms. Chu in response to the take down of the libelous meme.

Less than an hour after my post, Change Scamming deleted their photo implicating me as a paid propagandist.

Good. That will save that page’s admin and me time we could be spending with our families battling it in court.

Consider this a warning to you, and to any person or page who feel they can say with impunity any malicious charge against private citizens.

I will not take libelous, defamatory statements against me sitting down, even and especially not from anonymous pages.

In this day and age, your anonymity will never be a guarantee of your immunity from suits and even revenge. Tandaan ninyo yan. Nobody stays anonymous forever. The Internet is more transparent than you think.

The next time any of your pages accuse me of being paid, you better back up your claim with solid evidence admissible in court, because I will pay good money to see you in jail if you cannot prove otherwise.

As a citizen of this country, I reserve the right to attack or praise any leader I like, Change Scamming, and so do you.

I respect the existence of anti-Duterte pages because it is your privilege as a taxpaying citizen to attack him if you think his actions warrant it, but you do not cross the line and attack his supporters, especially if the supporter is a private citizen who shares the same right as you as enshrined in the Constitution–which is why I do not and have never attacked a private citizen on my own Facebook account.

Sa susunod, kikilalanin ninyo ang kakalabanin ninyo. At huwag kayong maghahamon at maghahanap ng gulo kung mga duwag kayo.

The below the belt blow from ChangeScamming has earned them ridicule and unflattering remarks from the Duterte supporters who diligently wrote their comments to be heard.

O ayan! Nakakuha ng katapat si Change Scamming. Unsolicited advise for you, next time, remember, always think before you click,” Melanie Ramos Quintos told ChangeScamming.

” At sino ngayun ang walang brain daw?My goodness tinatawag tayong Dutertad kasi di daw tayo mautak at sila ay elite, disente,at matatalino?Actions speak louder than voice.Dapat bigyan ng leksyon mga yan!” Monsiuer Emile said.

“Huh? nabahag ang buntot nila?? kunsabagay you can’t expect bravery from paid trolls,” Saldy Bonifacio wrote.

Mga duwag talaga. Kung tunay na may ipinaglaban sila ilabas nila pagmumukha nila. Wag silang magtago sa saya ng mga nanay nila. Duwag ,”  Isay Hortillano said in a gloating tone.

“Change Scamming scared? haha next time got some balls to attack any individuals,” Bo Morales wrote.

Meanwhile, some netizens want Ms Chu to teach them a lesson by making good of her threat to file a libel suit.

” You can still file against this people! They’re the one paid by the oligarchs to destroy the President and his supporters,” Ester Michael insisted.

Mam mag file ka parin para namn masampolan yang mga taong ganyan gagawa ng issue para lang mapagusapan at ma share,” Yaj Remaf shared Ester Michael’s sentiment.

If you were Krizette Chu, would you file a libel suit against the people behind ChangeScamming? Please comment below for your reply.
