A post showing a group of priests making the trademark “Duterte Kamao” has been doing the rounds online.

In a Facebook post shared recently, Manny Pinol published an article accompanied by the photos of priests posing with the signature pose of Mayor Duterte signifying their endorsement of the presidential bid of the Davao City mayor.
According to Sir Manny Pinol, two of the priests are his friends, namely: Fr. Roni Villamor and Fr. Toto Buenaflor who are now based in the US. They were based in North Cotabato before getting the US assignment.
Fr. Roni Villamor, according to Sir Manny “is from the town of Tulunan, North Cotabato where residents have witnessed violence for over 50 years now, supports presidential frontrunner Rody Duterte.”
Fr. Toto Buenaflor is a town mate of Sir Manny from M’lang the mother town of Tulunan who belongs to a family of politicians. The late uncle of Fr. Toto is Rolping Buenaflor former mayor of M’lang for so many years. A cousin of his, Luigi Buenaflor Cuerpo, was the vice mayor of Sir Manny Oinol and later became the mayor of M’lang when Sir Manny became Governor.
Both of his priest friends are now based in Louisiana.
Sir Manny Pinol said he was caught by surprised by the gesture of his priest friends considering that the Catholic church, particularly the CBCP has already made previous pronouncements as a collective body that they are not endorsing any presidential candidate.
However, Sir Manny admits he is not aware if the CBCP has issued a specific statement barring priest to announce their presidential preference in public.
Before ending his post, Sir Manny Pinol wrote that the gesture of his priest friends could only mean one thing: the priests believe that there should be “CHANGE” in the Philippines today.

Patriotic citizens should put national interest ahead of personal interest for the good of the nation and its inhabitants. The rest will just fall in place, love, greatness, prosperity, and peace,
Priests are only human and can make errors of judgement they just don’t know the truth about duterte but if they knew for sure they won’t support him. Let us see if they will still support him come election day.

Maybe. But having read that both of those priests are from North Cotabato. I am pretty sure they know how capable Mayor Duterte is. And I am not just saying this just coz I support him. I am from South Cotabato myself and I know how Mayor Duterte led his constituents.
SO AL , you know eveything about Duterte? Priests or not , everyone is entitled to make their own choices. How do you know about the truth? You are judging Duterte based on what you heard? Or you are just one of those judging Duterte based on his foul language as what his opponents are always posting. Leave the final judgment to Our God. Think which among the country’s presidential candidates can improve people’s lives & uplift the country’s status as a nation.

It only shows that these priests approve of Duterte’s cursing the Pope bewause he did not hide his character by any pretensions. The priest also are approving the actuations of Duterte towards women.

Separation of church and state issue. I agree priest are humans too. I heard a sermon from a priest last Sunday who said, in choosing our leader consider character as the most important quality. The disposition, temper, make up and his entire personality is not the making of a good president. Puede siyang executioner and head of Mafia. Duterte sow hatred as his platform to reform government and discipline the people. These priests are idiots. Pareho na lang din sila ni Duterte na walang respeto sa Diyos. Paano kaya naging pare mga ito?

The Priests are just trying to be nice to the photographer. If indeed this 5 out of 7 priests raise their fists for Duterte then its their choice but it doesn’t mean its the whole Catholic votes. Propaganda…
Let’s make a choice that will put our country to a lesser risk. We cannot take back our vote once we gave it to a wrong leader. let’s weigh every aspirant leader
