A post about a taxi driver blowing his top at his young passengers for saying they should have taken a GrabCar is making the rounds online.
In a Facebook post shared more than 4,300 times as of Saturday afternoon, a netizen named Hannah Quiwa shared their scary ordeal with a taxi driver.
The post identified the taxi driver as ROLANDO CAMARA, driving the taxi with plate number: AAO 7317 (NCR); the incident happened on the 28th of December 2015.
As soon as they got inside the taxicab, the driver demanded an extra fee of P50 pesos on top of the normal fare. “When we got in the taxi, he told us to give him 50 extra due to traffic, it took a while for us to get a cab so I said I will pay extra if there was really that much traffic,” the post read.
The taxi driver kept complaining and swearing throughout the whole time he was driving.
“I was on the phone with my friend when he told me he got a GrabTaxi in 5 minutes so I said that I should have tried GrabTaxi (cause it took me almost an hour to get this cab),” the post read.
Shameless, the taxi driver eavesdropped on the phone conversation of his passenger and without warning, he interfered the conversation by shouting at the stunned passenger, “Gusto mo ba mag grab, cge mag grab kayo walang problema un!” (“You prefer Grab, go ahead and take the Grab. No problem!”) howled the taxi driver.
“The driver even attempted to stop the car to let them out.” the post reads. “I wasn’t planning to argue with such a person so I just told me him no its fine.”
Apparently mad at his pesky client, the taxi driver made the deliberate attempt to make sure the passenger will pay more than the usual fare by going around in circles figuratively speaking. “He continued driving and instead of taking the route at Ortigas Avenue, he went through Pasig and went through numerous streets in C. Raymundo to increase the meter fare. I doubt I am wrong about his intentions because there is no way a usual driver can mistaken 2 different one-way street in one ride,” the post read.
Realizing they were taken for a ride by the taxi driver, she called her Dad. “I contacted my dad to wait for us at the drop point in the mall because I refuse to pay 50 extra to someone who wasn’t just rude and reckless but also trying to making a fool of me,” the post reads.
The post continued, “When we got in the Mall my dad didn’t have a hard time finding which taxi because he was pressing his horn at someone crossing the road in front of the mall at the pedestrian line!”
“My dad immediately asks him how much was the fare and why add 50 pesos,” the post reads.
The situation turned from bad to worse as the situation required the mall guards to intervene. “He started shouting at my dad. It escalated so fast that he the guards at the mall had to interfere,” the post read.
Not done with his foul-mouth, the taxi driver refused to be silenced, “He continuously shouted at my dad and he kept saying numerous offensive things as I was telling him that he was being rude to me,” the post reads.
“My dad was telling him that it wasn’t about the money; it’s about how he was a reckless driver and rude to young passengers,” the post continued.
The taxi driver at this point became hysterical and howled, “Put*ngina! Dahil lang 50 pesos magpapakamatay ka gago!” (“Son of a bitch. Because of P50.00, you want to die fool!”)
“I gave him what was written in the meter and the guards told him to drive away, he was still hysterical when he was driving away,” the post reads.
The post ended with a word of advice to the patrons and taxi drivers who can’t stand the traffic. “Feel free to SHARE. Stay safe everyone! And to all Taxi drivers, if you can’t accept the traffic and can’t control your temper about it, stay at home!”
